Bose System II means what exactly???

I am looking at a Bose Lifestyle 8 system. It does not seem to be "Series
II". Presumably, it is the version before System II.

What difference is there between the systems?
Roger

One of them will be crap, and the other merely horrible. Not sure
which is which, but please, don't buy Bose. They don't make Hi Fi,
they make Marketing Material.

Actually, Bose himself has been busy developing active car suspension
for a number of years now. At least if a recent article in IEEE Spectrum
is to be believed.

You forgot overpriced. I haven't taken Bose seriously since I heard a
demonstration system at some sort of exhibition. They seem to make tiny
speakers that sound exactly like tiny speakers. Pretty nasty to my ears!

**Who cares? They're both crap. If you want decent sound, avoid any shop
which sells Bose. At least then you're likely to get shown something decent.
Bose retailers are scum of the Earth. They've automatically demonstrated
several things, by offering Bose to their customers:

* They have no interest in providing good value equipment.
* They like the idea of retail price maintenance (you can't buy Bose at a
discount), which is, of course, illegal in most places.

But Trevor darling, there are people out there who have money to burn
and, like my dear friend Madge, actually prefer their mid-range
dribbling down from the ceiling whilst their bass (if that's the right
word for those so called Bose sub-woofers) going booompha, boooompha ,
booomph from under the couch.
Besides if you can't afford that exquisite looking B & system your
interior decorator recommended, Bose is the next best thing & the
player/amp/ tuner thingy does look rather chi-chi.

Now THAT sounds positively dangerous. At least Bose speakers are merely
unpleasant.

Roy.
