"Roy" roy wrote in message ... "Keith G" wrote in message ... "Roy" roy wrote ITYF that a CD doesn't compare to a Mobile Fidelity album. Indeed not - the CD is much better! :-) Not so collectable, though.............. Indeed, I shelled out for 1 MFSL album many years ago (Earl Klugh, Fingerpaintings) and thought it was the bee's knees. For a bit. Then I got CD. Never mind...... I don't. That's OK then.... ;-) |

The album is also available from allofmp3.com
They have a different approach: you select your preferred encoding system (including flac) and the server encodes the tracks that way and makes them available to you for download. They charge by the megabyte downloaded. (Not all the catalog is available with user-specified encoding.) Tim |

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...DME:L:RTQ:UK:1 (Mobile Fidelity - Crime of the Century) I hate this, out of a minimum sale price of £20 plus £7 postage, the owner gets £12 at the most. I hope this sort of thing doesn't catch on. I really wanted this album, but I'm not prepared to line the pockets of these middlemen too much. eBay's a free market. No-one's forced to sell, no-one's forced to buy. I have major doubts about free markets overall, but in the context of online auctions I'm a great admirer of free markets. I choose to sell stuff I no longer want, and get the best price available at the time. I don'tuse intermediaries, but that's my personal choice. Same when I buy. I read feedback, form an opinion of the seller. If it's an intermediary I'm likely personally to bid lower because of the decoupling between the sale and the seller. My choice. It's none of my business as a potential buyer if a seller chooses to use an intermediary. |
