Tauregs? Tuaregs surely.
Indeed. Some idiot recently posted that the plural of Tuareg is
Targui. In fact, a Targui is one of the Tuareg.
A Taureg would presumably be shorthand for some statutory device
controlling bovine livestock.........

Nope, it was a simple spelling mistake - annoying, as I was well *aware* of
the correct spelling when I mis-typed it.
The beauty of this group is that you can always rely on some **** to 'break
cover' simply to point out the error...

We learned that, if you are stranded in a desert and your GPS gadget
is on the fritz, you can determine Due North by pointing the hour hand
of your watch at the Sun and that bisecting the angle between it and
the 12 o'clock mark will point you Due South**. (Due North is 180 deg
the other way....) Make the necessary allowances for BST &c.,
naturally....
Bloody good that - I checked this on my walk to work this morning and it
works a treat!
Not as accurate as looking for satellite dishes.
Check out the equation of time.

What? You use a GPS gadget and you *walk* to work? (How far is it FFS?? :-)
We also learnt that Firewood Horns do *not* like SS amps and that if
you wick a 120wpc SS amp up too high the drivers will go West -
simultaneously, instantly, irrevocably....
Yeh, but before that the fingers will go north to block eardrums - you
then
turn the volume down :-P
If you are quick enough....
:-(
We also learnt that Firewood Horns sound amazing on valves and SETs in
particular, but sound like poo on SS amps***....
Firewood horns - explain that one again?
Pat Turner's very apposite name for these homebrew constructions!! ;-)
(Mine dew, the *firewood* alone for the Jerichos costs over 200 quid....)
Don't forget to mention the SS through the black ones sounded rather
good -
Sure, that's what I had intended. The 'horn' in these Fauré Horns was
extended to enhance the extra bass from the Visaton drivers. (I only blew
those ones up to ensure you get nice new ones to break in yourself!! ;-)
oh and the depth!
OK Ray, I'll tell all the boys and girls here that the *depth* (which,
initially, was entirely absent) from the SS amp steadily improved as the amp
warmed up!!
(But don't forget the valves were going on stone cold as well....!! ;-)

I will admit "depth" is relative. If the depth from the valves was 10 feet,
then thee SS managed the thickness of some card.

Satelite dishes? Excellent idea!
I will try that next time I am lost in the depths
of the Karelian forest with a bear chasing me:-)

Without a doubt. They scuff up ant-hills, which invariably
face south:-)
