Immediately *after* I bin all those crossposting scallywags I goes and swaps
my computers over and guess wot? - They're all *back* again!! :-)

So, here we go again, but *selectively* this time - there's an opportunity
for a bit more fun I mebbe shouldn't miss!!**

Ho hum!!

:-)

Reminds me - when I built this new machine a few days ago it's got a natty
little CPU/HDD temperature readout on the front. Soon (very soon, like
immediately) after I fired it up Swim says 'Oh, what's 69/25 then?'

**FAAARK!!!**

A spare power lead hanging in the processor fan and stopping it from turning
is what it was!!!

(27/28 atm....!! ;-)

**Well aware that makes me as bad as the xposters....!! :-)

You can't cancel other people's posts except perhaps on your PC.

Most ISPs won't let people cancel even their own posts.

Erm, where did he say that he wanted to cancel other peoples posts?

A quick response here before I put myself offline swapping stuff about - I'm
not interested in anything other than the crossposts that show up on my
*own* screen.

The only way I can control them on my computer (no-one else's) is to block
the posters (which asks me if I want all the messages removed). Occasional
crossposting is not good (although easy to miss at times - done it myself)
but incessant spamming of three different groups with effectively the same
old crap over and over again stinks, IMO. If Jooty wants to yank Pinky's
chain (again and again and again) and he's daft enough to let him then fine,
but not dragging half of audio usenet into all the time - I don't want
someone else choosing what ngs I get to read!! Ain't hard to comprehend, is
it?

Now, having swapped machines over, I've got them all back again!

:-)

Outlook Express marks a cross-post as being read on all conferences when
it is read on any of them. I have the OE timeout set to zero seconds so I
don't actually have to read stuff to get it marked as being read.

I agree with you in principle - I just have a different way to manage it.

Now, having swapped machines over, I've got them all back
again!

That's because your changes weren't global enough, which was my original
point.

Arny, I've no clue what you are describing. I've given up on it - if
everyone is happy to crosspost all over the place then sod it, let 'em....

(If it's a choice between crossposted or *dead* in here, I'll take
crossposted...!! ;-)
