Rega ELA speakers ?

I picked these up at a boot sale this morning, but I'm not 100% sure
what they are..

I know they're REGA ELAs 'cos it says so on the back.. But they're
completely different to the current ELA (2000 ?).

Anyone have any info as to age etc ?

Currently hooked up to an Audiolab 800a and sounding remarkably sweet
playing Du Pre/Barenboim Boccerini B flat concerto..

I remember hearing those in... When can it have been... 92? 93?
Sometime around there anyway. I think the Rega amplifiers were rather
newly introduced and I don't think there was a Rega CD-player.

They were priced somewhere around SEK 5000 (£400), IIRC

Thank you Urban, appreciate the information.

They were relatively popular in the early 1990s, and sometimes sold by
Naim dealers to partner lower end Naim amplification, with which they
had a certain synergy (Mark Tucker of Naim Audio used to recommend
them to partner the NAP140 and similar Naim amplifiers).

Nice speakers, well made, with a very coherent sound.
