Where Do You Buy Your Classical CDs?
I've looked around for various classical CD suppliers, and have been using
Amazon. Does anyone have recommendations for suppliers who are cheap and reliable? Thanks in advance to anyone who has the time to answer. ----------------------------- Spam-buster: remove the XYZ!! ----------------------------- |

Thanks in advance to anyone who has the time to answer. My last couple of orders from Amazon for classical CDs took nearly four months and over a month respectively. An order placed at the start of September has an estimated delivery window extending to the end of October. This is a lot worse than their performance in earlier years. Other suppliers do not seem to be any better, so I suspect that the problem lies with the record companies or distributors. Another supplier you could consider is Musica. (http://www.musica.co.uk/), although their site is refusing connections as I write. -- Chris Isbell Southampton UK |

I have bought some classical DVD's from Play com, and these have come quite promptly. Not sure what CDs they may offer, but my experience of them is that give good service. The main drawback is a limited coverage of classical music. Fairly recently, I tried 'Bath Compact Discs' and bought a CD and a DVD from them. Via email they apologised that the discs were out of stock, so there would be a delay. Despite that, the discs came within 10 days. Given this was a first order from me, and there would have been a delay as they had to clear a cheque I'd sent, this seems good to me. Their drawback may be that they probably don't offer large discounts, but I am hoping they will offer good service when I place future orders with them. It really is worth a visit. It is full of everything you could possibly think of realting to Classical music. It is worth taking the wife on a dirty weekend to bath just for that shop alone. |
