LCD Magnetic shielding
I am considering buying a Pioneer DVD 565 multi format (SACD/DVDA+V) player
to add to my system (Linn Genki/Kolector/LK140/Linn Saras). I will probably have to add a TV to access the Pioneer's OSD, and the question I need an answer to is: Are LCD/Plasma screens susceptible to magnetic interference from speakers? I am loath to part with my Saras, which due to their age are not magnetically screened, so need to know. If they are affected by speakers, how far away do the speakers need to be before the interference is eliminated (I know this is reliant on the size of the screen, lets assume it will be a 15" LCD job). Hopefully someone will be able to put my mind at rest, as I can't wait to hear the new Dylan SACDs, as well as DSOTM, Peter Gabriel etc. Gary |

Thanks for the replies, I thought that may be the case, I was just looking
for some reassurance (just like everyone I suppose). Gary "Ronnie McKinley" wrote in message ... I've a pair of Linn Sara 11s (mid 1980s - now long retired) just plonked one of them down a few inches away from my 15" LCD (feed with SKY TV) no degrading in the picture quality whatsoever. -- Ronnie |
