As subject, I'm the only owner, it's in *perfect* condition, absolutely
no problems whatsover, has only been in my flat and basically hasn't
moved since being bought in 2002.

I've also got a 2m pair of XLR copper-silver-carbon hybrid pre-amp
cables (van den Hul), 200 UKP new, looking for 100 UKP now.

Strange. I use XLR cables to handle low level microphone signals under
arduous conditions, and wouldn't dream of paying more than about a fiver
for the parts to make a 2 metre one.

Perhaps you're playing music that wasn't professionally recorded and is to
a much higher standard?

No. I didn't know what I was doing when I bought the stuff and the shop
I bought it from was run by people, who, naturally, were entirely happy
to be selling incredibly expensive cables.
