Default Armstrong info wanted

I am involved in the refurbishing of an Armstrong
A220 valve amp. Jim Le Surf started his illustrious
career with Armstrong Audio, and has been able to
supply me with some good data on this amplifier from
his website.

The amp on my bench has been well and truly
"improved" over the years. There have been step circuits added
(presumably to improve stability) with the addition of gold plated
speaker terminals, and a ground screw, plus the IEC connector.
Some aluminium plates have been fitted to the rear panel to hold
these modifications. To help me to return this amp to its
original state, I am keen to know what the rear panel looked
like originally.

If anyone has such an amp, has access to one, or has pics of
the rear panel, both Jim L and I would be most interested to see
them.

Any info would be appreciated, either to this thread or by
e-mail to me at

Thanks in advance
Iain

I refer above to a gentleman who does not exist. His name
is of course Jim Lesurf.

Humble apologies, Jim.

Iain

To clairify a little: I have photos of some 220 (and A20) amps, but they
tend to 'recent' pictures taken by proud owners for me. The units look
splendid, but the units generally have been 'restored' or 'updated' in
various ways, so may not look exactly as when new.

The images I have from the time when the units were made tend to be
monochrome publicity shots, so don't show the back or underside of the
sets.

The 220 was essentially a renamed and re-styled A20 to suit the 200 range.
So images of an original condition A20 might well be as useful as of a 220.

Slainte,

Jim
