Cheers guys (and who knows girls too)
Thanks for the advise, it would seem that I am gonna visit maplin et al
tomorrow, but for only a quid a metre I think I will parallel wire....
WHY, ah the question so many asked....
when I upgraded the speakers I used my old QED silver anniversary (9+yrs
old, £5.00m cable) I unfortunately smacked a nail right through it, now
it crackles, plus the wife does not like it visible, running over 2 door
entryways, so gonna trunk it round the ceiling with electrical trunking.
In regards to the plugs I move stuff often so makes life simpler, plus
the little I do know about Hi-Fi, wires open to the air, die quicker
than those that are not. or at least discolour.
or am I wrong on that too :))

Is it my imagination, or are guys who believe in audiophile magic more
likely to have wives who can't bear the sight of a cable? :-)

The discolouration is surface oxidation.

Provided that the cable is properly connected it's of no importance. Wire
doesn't 'wear out' although I expect a few ppl would have you believe that too !
