Here is the link to the auction http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MESE%3AIT&rd=1 regards berry OK, thanks for that! *Lovely* bit of kit - I hope you do well with it! Good luck! :-) I wish that I'd never heard of Leak. I bought their transistorized stereo amplifiers (Stereo 30 and Stereo 70) and found them to be "a load of crap". Their sound quality and build quality were very poor. What happened to that company, to make something so bad, after something so good (the Leak _valve_ amplifiers).? I did also have a Leak Trough Line (have I got this wording right?) tuner, which seemed OK. Sylvain. |

Hello, I have the acquired some vintage audio gear, which I am looking to sell, and was hoping for some advice on likely value, where best to sell it, and how to safely test it. The items a LEAK TL/12.1 power amp LEAK Preamp LEAK AM Tuner A R Sugden Connoisseur Turntable Original documentation and connectors I believe the components are as those detailed for the 'Console Cabinet' on http://www.werple.net.au/~kiewavly/Curiosities.html. The tuner is as pictured at the bottom of the page. There is also a single driver, which from the above page I would assume is from a Leak 550, but don't have readily available to check. The items are all superficially in excellent condition, and have been well stored, although are of unknown functionality. I'm technically competent, but have absolutely no experience with valves, and hence have no idea how to safely test the equipment without damaging it. Are there major things to avoid, or is it simply a case of connecting things up and feeding in a suitable input signal? Can anyone give me an approximate value of the above components? Is there important to ascertain, beyond presumably whether it works? Is the best place to sell them likely to be eBay, or would I do better tying to find a specialist dealer? Many thanks, Chris Key Hello, Thanks very much to all who've replied both off and on this group. I think eBay's the best way to go, and I'll certainly try to notify the asian market too. I've not yet decided whether to attempt any restoration myself, or whether to sell it as is. I'll post a link to the auction here though when I do. For now though, there are some photos of all the bits available from: http://pics-by-cjk32.fotopic.net/c1093612.html Chris Key |
