And if you believe that! I've noticed ( in real life ) that if a soup uses salt to 'taste good', one's tempted to add more to make it taste 'better'. For my own part I've all but eliminated salt in my cooking and it tastes one heck of a lot better to me for it, yet the salt fiends would doubtless disagree ! Aside from the grossness of the comment, it's kind of idiotic on a few levels. Unlike the *common claim* that tube gear gets us more realistic sound (so much for the big "if") there is no reference for the taste of soup. Does salt make soup taste more realistic? The analogy is idiotic. Some people should stick to what they do best, trolling. When Arny tries to make a logical argument about audio he inevitably exposes himself as an ass. Scott Scott |

Aside from the grossness of the comment, it's kind of idiotic on a few levels. Let's talk about truely idiotic, like suing somebody in California Superior court because they don't like something posted in a newsgroup. Unlike the *common claim* that tube gear gets us more realistic sound (so much for the big "if") there is no reference for the taste of soup. Sure there is. Every person who cooks soup has an idea in their head of what the soup should taste like. Virtually all audiophiles have no proper reference for the sound of an audio system. As close as they get is an idea in their head of what the system should sound like. Does salt make soup taste more realistic? As compared to that idea of what the soup should taste like? The analogy is idiotic. Lack of tact noted. Obviously, I've struck a sore nerve. Some people should stick to what they do best, trolling. When Arny tries to make a logical argument about audio he inevitably exposes himself as an ass. Folks, that's about as good of a concession speech as anybody has gotten out of Scott. And depends entirely on anyone's view of what *realistic* is ! It does? Of course. It's subjective. How so? The veiw I know uses the real thing as a reference. What other views on "realistic" are there? More importantly if they exist are they relevant? The "veiw I know uses the real thing as a reference" What's that supposed to mean ? Exactly what it says. Are there any unfamiliar words or phrases in that sentence? Is the structure of the sentence giving you troubles? Are you suggesting I've never heard 'real things' for example ? No. Maybe you really are having trouble understanding what I said. Was there any reference to *you* ? Was there any reference to anybody having "never heard" "real things?" Where on earth did you get such a bizarre idea? Radio Shack had/has still ?a brand called Realistic ffs ! I'm all for joking around but that was a really **** joke. Please do better or don't do it at all. please You want an award for trivialisation ? Now that was funny. You know if I **** in the next pot o'soup I make, maybe the saltiness will make the soup taste better. And if you believe that! I've noticed ( in real life ) that if a soup uses salt to 'taste good', one's tempted to add more to make it taste 'better'. You do understand we are talking about human perceptions no? Isn't that where they all reside? I one's mind? (so much for the big "if") there is no reference for the taste of soup. Does salt make soup taste more realistic? If you think it does - for sure. OK....... The analogy is idiotic. Some people should stick to what they do best, trolling. When Arny tries to make a logical argument about audio he inevitably exposes himself as an ass. What has Arny got to do with it ? Try to follow the thread please. I'll stand on my own 2 feet thank you very much. Funny you should chose a post in which you fall flat on your face to say this. Now that is humor. Thank you. Saltier soup is more realistic if I think so.... fun ny. Scott |
