Volume control lag

I am experiencing a time lag of about 10 seconds from the time I change
the volume on my Onkyo NR1000 till I hear the volume change out of the
speakers. I suspect this is the internal processing time of the Onkyo
receiver but of course this is quite unacceptable and annoying.

I appreciate any pointers or help on how to resolve this. Also curious
experiences with other receiver brands on volume control dealy....

Many thanks,
Henry

This is a $4000 receiver. Should have $4000 worth of technical support
behind it, and a damm good user manual. Usenet? We are in envy ;-)

Question. When you switch off the source, is the music still playing?
(could be an overkill setting to Plasma/LCD Audio delay A/V Sync settings)
