....don'cha just love 'em?

I was in the local 'hifi' shop earlier today scrounging cardboard boxes
(and buying *nowt*) for my eBaying activities and I spotted one of these
(zack same thing):

http://www.decks.co.uk/products/decks/numark/tt_usb

You could have it *there and then* for only £149....!!

(Same retailer who got wind of a *giveaway* price clearance on Sony MD
players at the nearby Argos a while back and went in, cleared them out
(big carrier bag full of them - saw it with my own eyes) and then went
and put them on the shelf at full price!! :-)

Theyt are for people who think they will get to be digital if they just link their
past collection to their new system using this. Also some of them may feel they are
taking care of their vinyl, while they're not. 10 to 1 this deck doesn't sound læike
the one they had in the 60s or 70s, and that they're so old and haven't heard the
records in such a while time that it doesn't matter. At 150 pounds they will manage
to not buy the lot over again on CD or have their children download it for them.

Old records are best treated by takign them to professionals who will evaluate them
and sell the ones that are worth anything to anyone who cares to buy them, rather
than having them played by this possibly ruining the surface. Anyone buying this kind
of deck and expect the needle to be set for their kind of vinyl and last throughout
their transfer is deluting themselves.

If I wasn't on a get rid/slim down campaign I'd buy one of these just to
see what it was really like. My guess is that they are probably well
enough OK for the money and good enough for making Dolly Parton CD rips
to play in the car...
