Foam mic cover for computer headset
Folks,
My daughter decided to have a chew on the mic cover of the headset we use for videoconferencing. I can't believe that these are not available to buy in generic form, but my Google searches have so far only revealed large 40mm sizes. This one would have to be closer to 8-12mm. I'm in the UK and would appreciate being pointed in either a dot.com or brick and mortar direction please. Evan |

You'll probably find what you want he- http://www.rycote.com/products/ But it may well cost not far short of a cheap headset complete. ;-( -- *How's my driving? Thanks, both sites do appear to have the part I need, however, you're
not far off about the prices. For a £15 mic it would sting a bit to pay £5 for a foam cover. Surely these have to be available somewhere in bulk. I am suprised Maplins only has large ones for vocal mics. I could buy a sponge block and carve my own out! |

Not quite that simple for a decent windgag. The foam is a special construction and is carved while frozen solid. -- *Of course I'm against sin; I'm against anything that I'm too old to enjoy. Over on the left side of the Pond, RadioShack sells those little foam windscreens the size of your fingertip for use as replacements for cell phone headsets, etc. At least last time I checked, they did. |

They're about 50 pence cheaper if you buy them in tens :-) The only other source for such things I know is China (through Ebay) at least for earbuds etc but you'll end up paying OTT for postage even if you pay .99p for twenty. |

That's a point - might be worth trying a phone shop. -- *A backward poet writes inverse.* Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

You can dye it with fabric store dye. |
