Old CD player and CDRW
My old Marantz CD63SE cd player will play CD-R but not CD-RW media. Does
this have anything to do with dye colour or is it down to other factors? The CDRWs I am using are dark blue. Is it possible to purchase CDRWs that will play in otherwise non compatible players? Thanks. |

Early cd players had difficult with rewritables as the output from the reader is lower see: http://www.cdrfaq.org/faq02.html#S2-12 I can't be bothered with rewritables, the disks seem to scratch more easily, they're slower to write and they're much more expensive. That's a pretty unusual colour I think, for the writable side of cd rewitables. |

CD-R media only costs pennies. |

After all like you said they only cost pennies. |

They've been commodity items for some time now. |
