What kind of music do you like/listen to? Size/shape/furnishing or room? - e.g. carpets? or bare wooden flooring? what interconnect will give more bass with this setup.i would like floorstanding speakers. None, so far as I know.[1] The amount of bass you get will probably mainly depend upon the choice of music, choice of loudspeakers, acoustics of the room, and where you place the speakers and your listening position in the room. If you genuinely want to 'boost' the bass, then get a second-hand Quad 34 and use its bass control, or buy a subwoofer as well as your main speakers and wind it up a bit. :-) Slainte, Jim [1] Although if these were *very* long, then the shunt capacitance might noticable roll away the treble... -- Electronics http://www.st-and.ac.uk/~www_pa/Scot...o/electron.htm Audio Misc http://www.st-and.demon.co.uk/AudioMisc/index.html Armstrong Audio http://www.st-and.demon.co.uk/Audio/armstrong.html Barbirolli Soc. http://www.st-and.demon.co.uk/JBSoc/JBSoc.html |

can anyone tell me what speakers match up nice to a musical fidelity a3 amp and a3 cd. Lots. Listen to some, preferably in the room you'll be using. what interconnect will give more bass with this setup.i would like floorstanding speakers. any reccomendations please? Anything reasonably thick, with clean connectors. You'll maybe have to pay big money for good speakers. Don't be conned by the interconnect myth. |

more from the 'james llewellyn school' of uk.rec.audio-ism:
what interconnect will give more bass with this setup. None will give more bass (that would require more energy to be added, which can only be done from a powered component). Some may give the impression of more bass by acting as a hardwired EQ and rolling off the mid+treble. If all you want is more bass, the EQ settings on your amp are a far better way to go about it. -- Jim H jh @333 .org |
