Oh OK, a little bit of 'audio' then - interesting to see what lengths
some people will go to, trying to justify/excuse/explain the thoroughly
*unlovely* sound of most CDs these days....

One of those bikes has its front tyre on backwards. Which is it?

If those *CDs* sound 'unlovely' then so will the MP3s etc one might
download?

As a matter of interest, being an LP lover, have you bought any modern pop
stuff on vinyl and does it suffer the same mastering nasties as pop CD?

I've just been comparing my original vinyl of Led Zeppelin IV with a
modern CD version, and amazingly enough, the new one actually has a
greater dynamic range than the original vinyl. That is refreshing in
these days of remastering for loudness.

Noop. You'll be thinking the 'white 'bike' but that's just a featurette
of the distinctive Metzeler (German) tyres - see:

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/WhiteFront.JPG

http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/BlackFront.JPG

But, you had me checking! Tone the Clone* delivered that bike at 6:20
last night; by 10:00 (pm) I had refixed the tank which was flapping
about in the breeze, shifted the gear lever up one spline (it was too
low), centered the handlebars (4mm too far left) and spent some time
stuffing a rubber spacer back into place on one of the front forklegs!

I reckon the 'bike's previous owner had had a shunt in the front (his
*highly personalised* number plate is still on the bike) - ie musta run
into something and gone rapidly off the idea - the 'bike's only got 2.5K
miles on it and is dripping with expensive *extras*! (Can't say too
much - the bike I swapped for it was the one I smacked down on the A1!!
:-)

*Oh, is he not - I recently discovered he's one of two
*indistinguishable* identical twins!! (My 'clone' reference is because
he outed his Cyrus/Impulse kit and changed over to 300B SET monos and
Lowthers within summat like *3 weeks* from first hearing my stuff but,
as they say - there's many a true word...!! :-)

Due here tonight with Shiny Nigel (who told me he was a twin)....

I guess so - but I don't 'download'...

I don't buy 'modern pop stuff' but the closest I've come to it was the
latest CD I bought which I would dearly love on vinyl - here's a 2
minuter (the closing piece) from it to give you an idea:

I bet her voice would lift no end (lifelikewise) on vinyl but, at 20
quid for a 12 inch single (Amazon), I'm not likely to hear it, sadly...

Have you considered the hypothesis that hearing your system cause
irreparable damage to the listeners hearing.

At 'Shiny Nigel' levels that's always a distinct possibility....
