Well? Did anyone here see the concert? It would have be excellent, if what I
saw on TV is a guide. I saw them in Sydney, back in 1971 (or 2, I don't recall). It was a most excellent concert. Trevor Wilson |

Trevor Wilson Youtube is full of snippets, all lousy quality. but the performance looked pretty amazing. definitely all worth the effort. I'm sure the DVD will be with us soon. d -- Pearce Consulting http://www.pearce.uk.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

I saw them in Sydney, back in 1971 (or 2, I don't recall). ** February 27th, 1972 - mid afternoon at the Sydney Showgrounds. I was there too. http://home.it.net.au/~jpage/ledsyd.html It was a most excellent concert. ** As were Jethro Tull doing " Thick as a Brick " at the Hordern Pavilion in the same year. However, neither IMO faintly eclipsed Sydney progressive rock band " Kahvas Jute " at the Arts Factory on the night of Saturday June 19 in 1971. ...... Phil |

I was there too. http://home.it.net.au/~jpage/ledsyd.html I saw them here, two days beforehand;- 25th February 1972, Western Springs Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand http://www.stryder.de/1972_aus.html http://kiwiconcerts.blogspot.com/200...-25021972.html It was a most excellent concert. Indeed! My first major outdoor stadium concert. Pre-recorded unreleased Santana playing over the PA as the crowd moved in pre-concert, as I recall. Lots of Nepalese hash & pure LSD about in those days, too, even here in NZ. [So I observed, in my twentieth year;-)] ** As were Jethro Tull doing " Thick as a Brick " at the Hordern Pavilion in the same year. I saw them in the Auckland Town Hall, likely later that year. "We''ll just start with a short number" (IIRC) and proceeded to play the whole of Thick As A Brick, after milling about in jumpsuits with the roadies earlier However, neither IMO faintly eclipsed Sydney progressive rock band " Kahvas Jute " at the Arts Factory on the night of Saturday June 19 in 1971. Can't comment on that one!!! ...... Phil *Must catch up on potential concert downloads! note to self!* I haven't even heard the latest CD set; quality comments, anyone? -- ~ RdM |
