I saw some late '70s Triumphs when they were new. Drip trays in the
showroom
and pools of oil when parked. That was the British motorcycle industry
when old and incontinent; things were different in its prime.
Yes, the 'height' for me is the bikes from the 50's and 60's and there's
tons of them about for damn good money significantly *not* spewing oil
everywhere! The only difference in the drip trays for 70s cars and bikes is
that the ones for cars were quite a bit bigger!
That said, 'we' (in the hands of #2 son these days) have a '74 Trident:
