Hi all,
is there a faq for this newgroup? I can only find one for car audio. Not as far as I know. I'm just learning about audio (speaker, surround sound, etc) and have a bunch of questions. Just ask 'em - I'm sure there are enough true 'audio enthusiasts' left in here to give you an answer..... Not specifically for this newsgroup, but there is an audio faq which relates more to the US based rec.audio groups: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/AudioFAQ/ CD |

Yes I saw it and rather bounced off it (it's a looks a bit complicated) but a 5.1 soundcard with digital out and a HT amp might solve your problems. I'll have another go at it! |

Cheers Keith, the "theory-related" part of the question is whether my CPC ceiling speakers are likely to draw too much form a normal HT surround-sound amp. Am I right in thinking that in the modern HT days the majority of the energy is put out through the subwoofer, with a smaller amount of high-frequency energy coming out through the surround sound speakers. If this is the "way-ahead", it sounds fine to me, though it may not suit my planned setup. Cheers again Ian |
