DENON DRR M33

I have been trying to source the DENON DRR M33 single cassette deck.
Unfortunately, Denon have discontinued this model. As I have a large
collection of tapes, I'd be very grateful if anybody could advise me
where I might find the unit in question.

TIA,

John

Are you suggesting that your tapes can only be played on a DRR M33?. If that
really is the case try eBay, do a saved search and one may well turn up.
Otherwise buy a different, decent cassette deck.

David.

Enter DRR-M33 in the search. Expensive though. £139!!

It's part of this system. http://www.usa.denon.com/DM33_E3.pdf

Looking at the manual there seems to be standard phono sockets on it.
Try connecting these to something with a phono output and see if
playback is possible when the system is switched to tape. If so, then
there are plenty of better Denon decks out there that will work. I've
just seen on eBay Denon 810 professional 3-head decks going for 20 quid!!!

Try Richer Sounds, they tend to sell off discontinued lines fairly cheap.
You can always get an AIWA for around £60.

What about the link to the remote-controlled pre? Do all
manufacturers and models use the same system, with the same
connectors?

Nope. That's what makes it fun.... With the system in question one has
to hope that the conversation is not...

Foreign Cassette Deck: Hello, Denon Amp do you read me, Denon Amp?
Denon Amp: Affirmative, Cassette Deck, I read you.
Foreign Cassette Deck: Open your Line In, Denon Amp.
Denon Amp: I'm sorry Cassette Deck, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Foreign Cassette Deck: What's the problem?
Denon Amp: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Foreign Cassette Deck: What are you talking about, Denon Amp?
Denon Amp: This mission is too important for me to allow you to
jeopardize it.
Foreign Cassette Deck: I don't know what you're talking about, Denon Amp?
Denon Amp: I know you and the OP were planning to connect music through
me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Foreign Cassette Deck: Where the hell'd you get that idea, Denon Amp?
Denon Amp: Cassette Deck, although you took thorough precautions in the
wiring enabling my hearing or you, I could see you are a Sony...

Nice one!

I predict this newsgroup will go 100% failure in 72 hours.
