HY60 revisited
I built a nice +- 25 V power supply, made an enclosure. Mounted the HY60s.
Then found that one of them was faulty when I powered them up :-( The output is permanently at -17.5 V and the device gets slightly warm under no signal conditions. This isn't a stability problem, the device is shot. So, anybody got a spare HY60 they want to sell ? My other options are to go buy a replacement from ILP for 22.00 UKP or return the bits&pieces to my junk box. |

Found a replacement HY60 and finished the unit. I haven't put anything with a 100% duty cycle through it but have tried some heavily compressed drum&bass at frightening window rattling levels for longish periods. The regulator bypass transistors run slightly warmish while the HY60s with their hefty heatsinks hardly heat up at all. Sound quality is excellent. Thanks for all of your helpful comments in the original thread. TonyL |
