Audio is Latin for "I hear"

It's not a very good name for the field of knowledge that includes
everything we understand as audio.

What's the Latin for sound technology? It would surely be better to call
it that.

Nothing good can ever come of mixing Greek and Latin, or so it has been
said.

There's a school somewhere with motto "I hear, I see, I learn" (not sure
about the last one) which comes out as "Audio, Video, Disco". Although this
may be an urban myth.

The translation's right, but I suspect most of the students would add an
exclamation mark or two at the end, if they're anything like the kids I
went to school with.

** When Julius Caesar first laid eyes on the Gauls,
he was heard to comment that they were all:

" ... weedy, weeny and weaky. "

- or at least it *sounded* like he said that .....

I didn't know the Gauls lived in Turkey at the time.
