Wanted: Old Electronics magazines

I am looking for copies of two particular issues of electronic mags,
specifically:

1. Electronic & Radio Engineer, Sept. 1958

2. Wireless World, Nov. 1962

If anyone has these and is prepared to sell them to me or copy me an
article from each one I would be very grateful.

Cheers

Ian

Contact your local library. WW certainly - unsure about the
other - is often kept in annual bound volumes. If your library
does not have them they should be able to request a copy from the
National Library. If you are a member of any electronics
institution or know someone who is their libraries will also
likely have copies.

I doubt that many local libraries keep them for reasons of space. There are
so many magazines and if they kept bound copies of them all going back
decades they'd need a warehouse just for them alone.

If your library does not have them they should be able to request a copy
from the National Library. If you are a member of any electronics

Indeed.

Where I used to work there was a superb library with copies of most
electronics magazines going back to the first editions in many cases. I
spent many happy hours browsing when I should have been working. Then the
vandals (otherwise known as managers) decided they'd rather have an
"interactive virtual-reality centre" than a library and threw most of the
magazines (and many old technical books) into skips. I managed to save a few
but not as many as I'd have liked. After that if I wanted to read an article
from an old magazine I had to specifically ask for it, and a photocopy would
be sent up from the National Library. But it's not the same as being able to
browse at will. Nowadays, I guess, some of this material is available
on-line.

David.

The article I want in Electronic and Radio Engineer, Sept 1958 is
entitled 'Bootstrap Circuit Technique' by A.W. Keen.

I don't know the name of the article in WW but what I want is apparently
on page 554.

Cheers

Sorry, can't help with that. I only have the letters on the Bailey phase
splitter from that issue.

That's a pity. The reason I want it is because according to Alan Kimmel
it is the first published occurrence of the (valve based) mu follower -
or at least a mu stage.

I have asked by local library to see if the can get a photocopy of the
article.
