Back in the 'good old days' UKRA was lively, rumbunctious place with a
comparatively good 'sense of community' and there were posts of all
descriptions from a considerably higher number of people than I suspect even
*lurk* here now, let alone post! Subjects ranged far and wide and, although
the place was very busy, at no time was anybody prevented from posting
technical stuff (just like now, asitappens) and there were certainly no
pathetic attempts at censorship from the likes of the one or two ****ante
posters who currently appear to have *standards* they wish to impose on this
group...???

But....

The penny has dropped and, suddenly, I can see is no evidence that any such
sense of community exists any longer and that occasional but highly
repetetive *technowanking* is really all that is required by the (get this)
*majority* of people that remain as subscribers here? Yes? No?

If 'yes' then I'm *gone* - so here's your chance, chaps....

What? You don't recall that usenet always did have its disruption merchants
and trolls? Nothing has really changed except that web forums have taken
many otherwise sane souls away from the pure usenet experience.

I always did need flame retardent computers to use these groups, but the
fact is people have become wimpy and should take no notice or make fun of
them. its only words after all, and in the main, banter.

A little hypersensitive, eh Kitty?

You're posts have always shown that you consider UKRA to be your private
tray of cat litter, and people have been moderately gracious about it.

Someone objects to something they consider (quite reasonably in my opinion)
to be a little too far OT, and you're doubting whether you're getting enough
love to bother staying. I suggest you get a grip and trudge on like the rest
of us.

Noted that you have joined your pooch in a little bit of 'ghey'
name-calling... :-)

They have?

Who thinks that? (My posts are *compulsory viewing* or summat??)

and people have been moderately gracious about it.

They have?

How do you know that?

Sorry, that's coming over like a bit of a mixed message to me - are you
saying 'stay' or '**** off'..??

Speak up and speak clearly, please!

(You got an *opportunity* here, old bean - don't miss it! ;-)

Keith, I for one enjoy posts about your kit and the things you've tried.

Oh, my *on topic* posts, you mean? ;-)

What I don't like and I don't single you in particular, is the name
calling and personal attacks that we see on here but there you go.

Hey, this is Usenet - delicate flowers and mithering old ladies can go find
a nice, fluffy forum if they want peace and quiet!! What it actually wants
is for someone to actually *see* who starts the name-calling here, once in a
while - clue: I've been called Kitty twice here today and have not directly
responded with my usual replies!

Yet....

;-)

Tee-hee. The one who loves to invent nicknames for others hates it when it
happens to him. Basically, a bully.
