I have a Dual CS505-2 record player that has stopped functioning (after 40 years!). *Checked the fuse and the socket OK, so it's failed somewhere in the machine, but for once I'm defeated on how to get into it. Rob ps Not that I'm specifically wanting to replace it, unless necessary, but anyone got any experience with these USB record decks? Most of them are cheap rubbish and a waste of money, the results will sound abysmal. One good one though is the 'Pro-Ject Debut', available from proper hi-fi shops, chains include 'Richer Sounds', 'Sevenoaks Sound & Vision', 'Practical Hi-Fi' (no that's not a magazine, but 'Hi- Fi World' is) and 'Superfi', not Maplin/Argos/Currys etc. I've had my Debut (basic model) for the past three years and it's been very good, a USB version is now available. |

Thanks guys for all your comments and offers of help - I managed to find the users handbook and get the turntable off (as long as you translate the instruction 'turn to right' as anti-clockwise !!) and there must have been some slight jerk to free the mains switch because it then started turning.
