Anyway, it was just too late for next day 'guaranteed' delivery on Wednesday and so, in all innocence, I expected it yesterday and *bingo* it didn't arrive - despite them having nearly twice as long as most 'overnight orders' in which to get it delivered! Laptops Direct (and their aliases) have been pretty reliable for me. Maybe Christmas week, plus the snow, might cut them a little slack? Not to mention the positively *spanky* 14 quid delivery charge for 'next day' - a refund for which which seems so readily available and easy to apply for you'd almost get the impression their 'next day' falls on its arse more than just a little....??? Yes, I was aware that my *timing* wasn't best when I placed the order, but it was *after* Christmas and these firms don't need to rely on the Royal Mail. The computer isn't urgent and this time we were/are here in any case, so it isn't the complete PITA it might be - I probably won't be able to even switch it on until I get a VGA adaptor cable anyway and that's coming from a different source! What are you planning to connect it to? I just use a DVI-HDMI cable . . . I was/am hoping just an ordinary VGA computer monitor, until I find that can't be done for some reason - it getting here would help in this respect.... |

Now you're slagging them off for being efficient? :-) Would you have preferred them to sit on your refund for a few days and argue a little? |

No, I would have preferred them to deliver the goods as per the (paid for) arrangement - being well-practiced and slick at giving refunds for *failure to perform as promised* is no good to me. My problem is I've been spoiled by Amazon who do deliver when they say they are going to - including a Sony BDP on either the the 22nd or 23rd (Christmas Eve or the day before - I forget which now) when they were probably a little busy...?? Could have and should have ordered the Mac from John Lewis or even the Apple Store - no worries, lessons have been learned.... |
