Opinions on Musical Fidelity preamp

Hello,

I'm considering investing in a used Musical Fidelity A3cr preamplifier, and
was wondering if anyone owns or has owned this unit? I'm planning to pair it
with a Primare power amp and using this configuration to drive a pair of
Dynaudio floorstanders.

Could someone give me an approximate blue book value for a unit that's about
4-5 years old and in good cosmetic condition?

Regards,
Schiz

The most I would pay is a 1/3 of the new price for up to three years old

problem with MF kit soon after it comes out you can buy it with big
discounts from most dealers and in the case of a couple of recent models
direct from MF

they even wrote to customers in the end saying sorry for that and blamed it
on have too many units built in the far east ?

Thank you, Dave. That's very helpful. Do you have an opinion on Primare too?
The amp I'm considering is the A30.2 power amp.

Oh dear, some people just don't learn do they?

Oi! Schizoid Man! Stop asking people for their *opinions* - you must go
off and *measure* these amps before you make any decisions...

(And definitely don't bother asking Dave Whitter - he can't even spell
his own surname FFS!)

:-)

Agreed - I paid half retail for a one year old MF amp recently.

I went to my local hifi dealer the other day to listen to some speakers,
and they used an updated version of the same amp - MF must be updating
annually.

Speakers very good BTW - Wilson Benesch Square One. Prefer, just, my
Dynaudio Contour 1.1, but the best run-for-money . . . ever, I think.

Sorry - should rephrase - bought brand new, and the amplifier had been
out for a year.
