mw12c mixer
The local Talking Newspaper has just gone digital, and as part of this
has bought a yamaha mw12c mixer. Quite the wrong kit, imo, far too many knobs; but there you go. However, there seems to be a bit of a problem with the mixer. After some time of running, the sound becomes very distorted. Although I know for sure the waveform was badly clipped in places, the audible distortion /appeared/ to affect lower-level signals (say around -12 to -6 dB re peak, although I couldn't have a proper play with it; not my 'new toy' :-( I was on the 'talking' end of things last night.) Also, the back panel was incredibly hot - a couple of screws there were almost untouchable. I'm wondering if something inside might be overheating and causing the problem. Anyone have experience of these boxes please? Do they normally run so hot? TIA. -- Mike Scott (unet2 at [deletethis] scottsonline.org.uk) Harlow Essex England |
