On an edition of HIGNFY there was some banter about what song to be
played at ones funeral, apparently Robbie Williams "Angels" is current fave.
But Jo Brand related how a friend of hers had gone out to an Elvis song...
"Return to sender"
Which I thought was a rather good choice.

How does Steve Wright's mind work ?

He read out a very sweet message of love, a couple planning to be together
for ever and all that good stuff then plays Matt Monro's record "Walk
Away".

I love this record, its poignancy and Matt's voice but it hardly conveys a
message of everlasting love. The following track by Adele was great to
listen too much, again, not totally appropriate for the message in the
request.

How many would be confident enough to choose "The Only Way is Up", or
"Things Can Only Get Better", I wonder... ;-

For a funeral it just has to be "Comfortably Numb".

"Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?

Come on, now
I hear you're feeling down
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again

Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?"

That is an impressive (Or maybe alarming?) choice of relatively modern
popular tunes for you Jim.

I thought they were both old-fashioned TBH. It's possible that I listen to
a wider range of music than you might have assumed. :-)

Obviously not into irony then.

How about I'm a Mummy, from the 1950s.

How about "Ain't it Grand to be Blooming Well Dead"?

David.
