"Richard Wall" wrote Firstly is the article true ? Why buy an
extension lead and cut it up for
cable when you can buy it in the same DIY stores as unterminated cable.

Why
pick the outdoor cable which is earthed rather than cheaper two core ?

Can
anyone confirm this story or is it just one of those amusing jokes usually
saved for 1st April ?

The Quad room at the show was large and imho was not one of the best
sounding. I thought the sound was noticeably flat and uninvolving

something
the expensive cable people claim to help.

I liked the sound in the Art Audio room as they were using Avantgarde Unos
as I do. I asked about the speaker cable he was using thinking that he
might have selected the "named" cable for a reason. His reply was that

the
cable suppliers went to every room to offer free cable to anyone who had

not
brought their own ! This undoubtedly explains why no-one usually uses

cheap
cable.

Currently I use 5amp mains cable for my speaker runs however fellow club
members have found Kimber to be very good. I intend to borrow theirs to

see
if it works in my system.

In this article it says "...Quad, to mark 50 years of making its
world-famous hi-fi equipment..."

I thought Quad 'celebrated' their 60th anniversary a few years ago ?
