Default Having different sound settings in windows 7

At the moment in xp, I use a program called quickmix, which allows one to
set up mixer settings of the sound card as you want, and then save it. That
file with a qmx suffix can then be run any time to recall that specific
setting without having to go to the audio settings and put them back as you
want them.
However this software will not work in Windows 7 and up due to the
different way the Windows sound works.
Does anyone know of a piece of software that can do the same thing in 7?

Have you tried contacting the writers:-

The program isn't mentioned on their website, though, so it appears to
be abandonware.

As far as I know they have no plans for this.
Maybe its just not possible in the new system, I don't know enough about
it.
