DAB BBC dropout
Hi,
Yesterday started to get complete dropouts every few minutes on BBC 3 and 4 DAB. Dropouts last a few seconds and sound then returns as normal. Happens with 3 different radios in different places in the house. Does not happen with Capital Radio. Does not happen with FM or internet. We live in Dorset (BH20 5BB) and BBC say no faults with transmitters. Suggestions? Thanks, Gordon |

If it's a small one it may not have monitoring in real time, so they wouldn't necessarily know. Looks like you are covered by the Corfe Castle repeater which only serves 800 homes. Does that sound right? d |

I think it is unlikely to be Corfe - we live in Wareham which has many more
houses! Thanks, Gordon "Don Pearce" wrote in message ... Its been happening increasingly with BBC radio Surrey in recent weeks. Most
of the time its a tiny glitch but at others lasts several seconds with a kind of screech just as it goes. Is this the same as you get? It sounds to me like a digital link issue to me. This might be why they say the transmitters are fine. Of course nobody actually listens to it and even if they do, they probably would not know where to start looking for the issue. My money is still on a link even if the fm works, it c might be you get the
dab from somewhere else, and that would be where to look. Brian -- From the Sofa of Brian Gaff Reply address is active "Gordon MacPherson" wrote in message ... Oh yes? Well you have more faith than I have. Besides intermittent faults
are a pain in the wotsit as we all know. Disturb the beast and it goes away for weeks. Brian -- From the Sofa of Brian Gaff Reply address is active "Arfa Daily" wrote in message ... Might be worth contacting Arqiva at Emley moor directly.. 01962 823434 or should get you started... -- Tony Sayer |

Complained to BBC. They acknowledged a problem and the fault has now
disappeared! Thanks for your advice Gordon "Gordon MacPherson" wrote in message ... Hi, Yesterday started to get complete dropouts every few minutes on BBC 3 and 4 DAB.
