I'm looking at a couple of fairly cheap DVD players as options to replace a
defunct CD player in a stereo hifi system.
Leaving aside issues of quality (which seem to have been aired repeatedly in
previous posts in this and other newsgroups), I'm curious as to whether some
models do or do not show track and elapsed time information on their
built-in displays, when playing audio CDs. This player will never be hooked
up to a TV, so I can't rely on the on-screen display.
If anybody has one of the following, can they confirm that the built-in
display shows track number and time:
Toshiba SD-324E
Toshiba SD-130E
Pioneer DV-360
Samsung DVD-E232
For the last two, I downloaded the product manuals, but they are unclear on
this point.
By the way, I did try a Cyberhome CH-402 and the built-in display did have
all this information. However it was defective and had to be returned to the
shop (the shop had put it in their sale having apparently having had it
returned by another customer, although I didn't realise this at the time).
