Default Amp and speakers for a PC

Leave the PC out of the kitchen, put a TV of some sort in there (TFT in a
kitchen cupboard door is a cool trick) and get a Hauppauge MVP. Either use
the TV audio or something like a creative 2.1 speaker set or similar (about
30 quid).

That's one way of doing it but
- i still need to put the pc server somewhere and this is an
additional cost
- the tft screen *should* give better pictures driven by a pc graphics
card than via the MVP though a S-Vid or RGB connection
- something like MyHTPC will give a freindly user interface anyway.
- i'm not convinced a £30 speaker system will give me the quality of
sound i want. I'd happily spend £200 or more on amp and speakers.

I can always relocate the PC later and replace it with a 'media
player' of some kind. Since it's a network it doesnt really matter
where it is.
