Default recommendations for small monitor speakers

TBH the main reason I bought them was for movie listening rather than
music listening which is why I went for the larger speaker. I think the
902s have the edge though when it comes to music, the mid-range isn't
quite as 'bland' as the Signature/912 but the 912 has the edge with its
slightly more extended bass. They have rear ports and benefit from 60cm
stands (I have mine on Atacama Nexus 6s).

But seeing how you already have a REL I'd say the extra bass of the 912
would be superfluous. If you can, have a listen to both and see if you
like what you hear.

The other good thing is that cosmetically the MS are snazzy looking with
their silver baffles and dustcap free silver drivers so they tend to
have high WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) quotients They aren't made of
real wood but they have a reasonable finish and are solidly built.

I had a pair of 902's and they are a fine speaker.

If only the OP could go a little higher to the Quad11L speakers. Glorious
sound and that piano gloss finish will get any wife agreeing with you!
