I'd like to use the AC outlet of my DSP-A1 to power some of my hifi -

Can anyone confirm the type (and hopefully a source of plugs as
well!)

IIRC, called a Euro *Facilities* plug - not to be confused with an IEC
which is called a Euro plug. Maplin used to do them, but neither they
nor RS Components list them now.

The ones I've got are marked 'Bulgin 6/250 R770' but IIRC have to be
modified by cutting off a sort of fourth plastic pin.

Bulgin is - or was - a UK company, so you might try contacting them.
Or Yamaha.

The picture at the Keene web site is horrible, but if the connector in
question resembles this one:

then an adaptor that a standard US mains plug plugs into is a standard PC
item. This connector also appeared on the back of almost every AT-style
power supply.
