Hi All...

When I open up the tray on my Marantz the CD tray appears to squeak. Most
annoying. If I physically hold onto it and slow the movement of the tray
down the squeak stops. The player functions perfectly apart from that.

Has anyone got any ideas how I can fix it? In a casual conversation with
an
audio shop owner they thought it could be a capacitor thats connected to
the
motor thats burnt out.

I have called Servicecare - www.servicecare.co.uk - the authorised Marantz
people, and they're talking £35 to look at it, and probably £100 all up. I
note I can get a second hand one of these on e-bay for £20 - seems such a
waste though.

I am based in Manchester. Any ideas much appreciated.
