Apologies if this is considered off topic and if the description of the
problem is very non techy. I have a number of minidiscs I wish to copy to
CDR to listen to in the car.
A better group to ask might have been alt.audio.minidisc .
I'm trying to use Audacity to record to wav, I've hooked a MD deck up to my
PC and the sound is great while the MD plays - however when I listen to the
wav created it is distorted at the loudest points. The recording level
seems too high, if I use volume control on the line in it seems to have no
differece while if I change the input volume within Audacity it records
everything at lower volume but with the same crashing at louder points.
Depending on the make of MD player you might have better results using
the software supplied with the machine ie. Sony - SonicStage or
SimpleBurner. Personally I prefer RealPlayer
Whoops. Just noticed that you said 'Deck'... ignore the above.
