I take it that you mean replace the whole of the T27s with Audax units?

For a moment I wondered whether you had found a way of replacing just
the dome sections with an Audax replacement?

maybe they were OK in their day, but that is long gone, there are, IMHO,
much better ones around for under £15 a piece.
They did sound better if coupled to a KEF B110, and an acoustic butterworth
crossover, but even the bextrene cone of the B110 is bettered easily today,
however, there are some around that still swear by the BBC LS3/5, which used
both drive units and a very complex crossover, which really did nothing for
the sound.
I much prefered the Harbeth P3 monitor, a cracking little unit.
