You keep on introducing 'mainly' etc. Either valves are the be all and end
all, or they're not. If you simply accept that they are introducing a
wanted form of distortion, then you certainly don't need the whole chain
to be valve.
And, as Paul says, there are certainly a few studios
with the TL Audio desk.
The valve sound is extremely popular these days - I wouldn't be
surprised to find that most recently released records feature sounds
recorded with valves somewhere in the signal chain.
I'm not denying they have their uses for a particular sound. Just the idea
of an entire valve studio. It's nonsense.
