Any advice or pointers on a sub-woofer to compliment a pair of Quad
11Ls?

This is for musical use, not home theatre.

Handy with woodworking tools?

I'm agonising as to whether it' worth the effort to build one of these
(SW2 or SW3) for HT use:

http://www.iplacoustics.co.uk/INDEX.htm

Nice chat with Ivan Leslie who claims these units are easily the equal of
commercial products costing 3 times the price (ie up there with top o' the
line RELs) and are a doddle to build....??

I've mislaid me bit of paper with the 'all inclusive' prices on, but I
think the *complete* kits (including sufficient iron-on, real wood veneer)
work out at about £276 for the SW2 and $340 for the SW3.

Me bit of paper's turned up, the 'all inclusive' prices for these kits are
actually as follows:

SW2 - £294.20

SW3 - £340.40

Also, I'm told they are pretty much the same in terms of bass extension, FR,
power output etc. - the advantage/point of the SW3 is that it will provide
more 'volume' for larger rooms....
