Having now got the Grado headphones, and got them nicely broken in, I
find the lead needs to be a tad longer to suit the position of my living
room furniture.
It only needs to be a couple of metres longer, but I can't find any
extension cables this short anywhere. That, or the one's I can find are
very low quality - like £1.99 on ebay. Most of the hi-fi stores I can
find don't even seem to sell them. Grado do a 10m one though.
I have even considered making my own lead, a pair of decent connectors
at CPC are very cheap, but I have no idea what kind of cable to get.
Any suggestions?
Cheers.

I bought a "Mini Headphone Extension Lead" by SoundLab from Maplins two
weeks ago. It's 3m long. Whether the quality is good enough for you, I've
no idea, but I'd certainly be interested to know whether you can tell in a
genuine double blind test. (The connectors are not gold plated.)
Yes, the Grados have a gold plated connector, so I guess it's make sense
to match this if I can. It also seems to make sense to at least match
the quality of cable used for the headphones too.
I know this probably won't make much difference on the short term, but
over a period of time it might as the cables degrade, and the
connections oxidise.
