Grrrrrrrrrrrr, that's about 40-48 pence, just a little more than
*half* what we pay in the UK.......

which makes it about a pound a litre. On a unit to unit comparison, it
works out to be the same if say a graduate accountant in the UK earns
£35k and a graduate accountant in Oz earns AUD$35k. ie petrol in Oz
might seem cheaper in absolute terms, but not once the cost of living
and wages are factored in.
