Hi again - just posted about the missing phono thing. Well, while looking

at
the TAG site I notice they've got some TM 60P refurbed for £350. Are

these
comparable to the 8000P?

No, they're comparable to the 8000SX, the power-amp version of the
cut-down 8000A, the 8000LX. Cost £550 new against £850 for the 8000P,
and rated 60 watts/channel.

8000Ps are going for silly money on ebay - about £350 in fact.

That's not 'silly money' for probably the best all-round 100-watt
stereo power amp ever made - if your speakers don't go much below 4
ohms. I doubt if I'll ever sell mine. When I go multi-channel, I'll
likely add two or three more of them.

Ah, thanks. I didn't realise they were that expensive new, although most of
the examples knocking about seem to be 10 years old. Speakers may be an
issue - Dynaudio Audience 42s, rated at 4 ohms. I hadn't thought of that but
it shouldn't be a problem (?).
