Thanks. The problem with that is, to use it I would have to have a TV
attached. I need something that I can use the CD display with.

I don't know about more modern players but the DVD player that I have
can do most things from the front panel. It might be worth looking at a
slightly more expensive player with more comprehensive front panel
controls.
