Can you say more about the measurement requirement? The cost might depend
upon factors like the number of bits per sample, the level of jitter,
quality of filtering, input noise level, etc. Also on any interfacing and
length of data-grab if sampling, or sweep stabilty, etc, if you want the
'old fashioned' swept mixer approach.


As mentioned in my other post, 8 bits would suffice, although 16 would
be nice.

mostly price is a factor - 200ukp max, poss 300. something like a USB
device would be nice (PCI would be a problem but if the card was good
enough I would build another box to house it.)

Its for generic projects - my interests vary a lot. one application
would be radio astronomy, another audio measurements.
