Default Bose lifestyle 35

I heard a Bose system of this ilk in a shop recently. What was coming
out of it can only be described as an objectional travesty of natural
sound.

Not only - it could also be described as crap.

However, let's give it a chance. A 2" paper cone speaker is no use to
anybody so if we replace the satellite speakers with something
costing at least £4 each from Richer Sounds, including a decent
tweeter and a 3" midrange unit, then we may get something like hi-fi....

As the subwoofer works up to ~250Hz (figures not available from Bose)
which is too high to be non-directional, it should be placed in the
centre front, under the TV.

We know that all CD players sound the same and that amplifiers, if not
overdriven, sound the same. So, given the above circumstances,
a Bose Lifestyle 35 should sound "OK".

What does it cost in the UK?

Roger.
