Hi,
I have just sold a Linn Sondek LP12 and the buyer has emailed me saying
that he has connected it to his amp and is getting no line level, (and
presumably no sound).
It was working perfectly with my CyrusIII amp so, before responding, I
thought I would ask what the possible problems could be.
I am not a hifi buff, and usually find that things work when you plug
them into the right sockets.
Many Thanks
You have probably hit it in your last paragraph. In all probability he
has plugged it into a line level (DC, tuner etc) socket on his amp.
Can you find out what his amp is?

Thanks Don,
Following is a reply from the buyer:
"hi richard,
have tried it on a cambridge audio azur 640a and a rotel ra9308x, in the
phono inputs both times, but there is no signal going into it. "
does this help - could it be the deck?
Mmmm -certainly could be, but I doubt it.Cartridges don't generally
fail in both channels simultaneously. Sounds like there is still some
finger trouble somewhere. But without being there and trying things,
it is hard to say.
As far as fault-finding goes:
Finger on the live phono wire to see that a good solid mains buzz goes
through.
Try the deck again on another amp - your Cyrus III would be the ideal,
but I don't know how far away you live.
